Our aim at The Earl Shilton Dental Practice is the prevention of oral disease. There is increasing evidence that poor gum health is a risk factor in general health problems such as diabetes and heart disease. When visiting us we will help you to achieve and maintain good dental hygiene and general health.
We have dental hygienists whose role is to advise and treat you so that gum disease can be kept at bay.
Your dentist will assess how regularly you need to attend the hygienist based on your clinical needs.
The role of our dental hygienists:
- Clean your teeth thoroughly by removing all plaque and tartar from above and below the gum line.
- Advise you on brushing techniques and demonstrate how to clean between your teeth to keep your gums healthy.
- Help deal with bleeding gums and bad breath and how to prevent this.
- Show you how to maintain good oral hygiene between visits.
